The Watson Woods Project

This is the Watson Center at Santa Fe College in Keystone Heights FL.

There are currently 40 acres behind the center that include a mowed area of mixed pines and oaks, a historic borrow pit and an area of somewhat undisturbed upland sandhill habitat. This area, dubbed the Watson Woods, has been used as an outdoor classroom for the last 2 years.

This area provides unique research and learning opportunities for our students. To expand on this opportunity we will be using this blog to identify, catalog and later map our discoveries in the Watson Woods. This will start as a project for the CORE II biology class and hopefully expand to a centerwide effort.

Enjoy our explorations.
