Smokey Polypore (Bjerkandera adusta)

Common names: Smoky polypore.

Family: Hapalopilaceae
Smokey Polypores are tough, overlapping, projecting, smoky gray, stalkless caps with grayish pores, normally dirty white, gray, or tan, and can sometimes look stained darker. They can usually be found between July through November, usually over winters. They live on dead deciduous and coniferous wood. They can be found throughout North America. These are also inedible.
